2023 Scholarships

Edward W. Brooke Scholarship


The Edward W. Brooke $1000 Scholarship is open to any high school senior residing in the Tri-County Regional Chamber region that it represents: Bellingham, Franklin, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Medway, Mendon, Milford, Millis, and Upton.


In 1966, Brooke, a Republican, was elected to the US Senate from Massachusetts - the first African-American ever popularly elected to that body. He also had an impressive career of overcoming adversity as an Army officer in World War II and as the Massachusetts Attorney General - again making history as the first Aftrican American elected to that role ever, in the United States.


Requirements to apply:

High school students interested in applying should submit brief personal details as well as a short essay of less than 1000 words, explaining what we, in 2023, can learn from Brooke or should choose to emulate.

Noorjanian Award for Volunteer Service - CLOSED

One $1,000 Scholarship is presented to a student who has provided his/her city or town with outstanding VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY SERVICE. It was named after the late Norman Noorjanian, a dedicated community volunteer and former Tri-County Regional Chamber Director. Each High School Guidance Department will forward the name and volunteer transcripts of one student whose commitment to volunteerism makes them worthy of consideration. Students from the following high schools are eligible: Bellingham, Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical, Franklin, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Medway, Milford, Millis, Nipmuc Regional and Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical.


Unsung Hero Scholarship Award - CLOSED

Dean College will award three (3) $1,000 scholarships to three (3) students who are attending Dean College beginning Fall 2023. Nominations should come from high school faculty or staff with a short paragraph as to the reason for the nomination. Dean College staff will interview nominated students the week of April 24th.

Nursing Scholarship by Cornerstone at Milford - CLOSED

Cornerstone at Milford will award one (1) $500 scholarship to a student that is pursuing a nursing degree. Applicants need to complete the attached application. Students from the following high schools are eligible: Bellingham, Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical, Franklin, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Medway, Milford, Millis, Nipmuc Regional and Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical.

 Due date for applications is May 1st, please forward to laura@tricountychamberma.org. A committee will review all applications and select the winners.

It is our intent to complete the process in time for the winners’ schools to announce the recipients at pre-graduation awards ceremonies.
